A Cookery Demonstration featuring Mark Doe, of Just Cooking.ie, will take place on Thursday October 11, 2012 at 7pm in Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee in aid of Brú Columbanus Cork.
Brú Columbanus, is a charitable organization that run apartments to accommodate relatives of seriously ill patients in Cork Hospitals. The complex provides, sleeping rooms, fitted kitchens and relaxation areas and is free of charge. A modest donation may be made by those who wish and are in a position to do so without obligation. The home from home accommodation provides support in times of emotional crisis, reduces financial burden and brings peace of mind to both patients and family members. A large proportion of families using the centre come from Kerry so your support for this very worthy cause would be greatly appreciated. Tickets on the night cost just 10 euro.

Congratulations to Dr. Noelle Breslin of Donegal Town daughter of Michael-John and Louise Histon-Breslin who graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI) in Ireland with a first class honours degree in medicine on June 6, 2012.
During her training Noelle worked in the emergency departments of St Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan, New York City. She also received a total of 7 medals including the Crumlin Hospital for sick children Doctor's Medal in Paediatrics and the Naughton Jones Gold Medal in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Following her internship in Beaumont Hospital Noelle plans to pursue a surgical career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Noelle is grand-daughter of Christina and the late Gerard Histon of Tarbert Island.
Tralee Rehab Committee would like to thank all those that contributed to their recent church gate collection and also those who manned the boxes. The sum of 567 euro was collected in Tarbert.
There was no winner of last week's lotto draw. The numbers drawn were; 4, 8, 20 and 23. Bar Prize winner Stella Enright. Lucky Dip winners were; Michael Carmody, Mary Hennessy, Bill Walsh, Sean Brough and Ger Scannell. This week's draw will be held next Saturday night September 22 in The Anchor Bar. The death of Patrick Joseph Carmody of Carney Nenagh Co. Tipperary and formerly of Tarbert Co. Kerry occurred on September 7, 2012. Patrick was a retired Garda Detective attached to Dublin Castle prior to moving to Nenagh on retirement.
His remains were removed from Keller's Funeral Home to Killbarron Church on Monday September 10 at 11:30am for funeral mass at 12 noon.
Patrick Joseph is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Mary and Elaine, son Patrick, brothers; Michael and Andy, sisters, Sheila and Evelyn, extended family members, relatives, neighbours and friends to whom our sincere sympathy is extended.
Interment took place in Lislaughtin Cemetery, Ballylongford, Co. Kerry.

The death of Larry Curtin of Tarmons, Tarbert, Co Kerry and formerly of Glenchesk, Templeglantine Co. Limerick occurred on Friday September 7, 2012.
Larry was a quiet and softly spoken gentleman who loved music and dancing and was a devoted husband and father. He never had a bad word to say about anybody and was an esteemed member of our community.
Larry's remains were waked at home on Saturday September 8 and removed from his home to St. Mary's Church Tarbert on Sunday Morning September 9 at 10am for requiem mass at 11am.
Larry is survived by his wife Mary, son Martin, daughters; Mary, Carmel, Josephine and Trease; grandchildren, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family members, relatives, neighbours and friends to whom our deepest sympathy is extended.
Interment took place in Lislaughlin Cemetery, Ballylongford Co. Kerry.

Tarbert drew at home to Castleisland Desmonds last Saturday night in their final home game of the County League on a scoreline of Tarbert 2-05, Desmonds 011.

Last Saturday night in Carmody's Bar, members of Tarbert GAA Club presented James and Mary Carrig with a cheque for €12,400 on behalf of their son Seamus. Friends and Family joined the couple on the night to share in their celebrations.
