THERE was plenty of glitz and glamour on show at the Ballyroe Hotel last week as the students of Presentation Secondary School, Tralee enjoyed their Debs Ball.

Close to 250 students attended the €55 a head event, which was held at the Tralee hotel last Thursday night. The Presentation Class of 2014 are well up in the fashion stakes judging by the style that was on show as the students began gathering in Ballyroe from early on Thursday evening.

The ball was the result of almost 11 months of hard work by a five-strong committee who spent much of the last year making sure the event would go off without a hitch.

The committee, which included Chantelle McDonagh, Joanne Meehan, Niamh O'Connor, Tsungi Mujokoro and Ellen O'Doherty, began meeting last October, and have been organising the event and selling tickets ever since. As well as getting themselves ready for the big night, the committee members were all out at Ballyroe early on Thursday morning to set about decorating the ballroom and making sure all the little extra touches were ready.

After a three course dinner, local musical siblings Caoimhe and Fionan O'Carroll provided the music before DJ Aaron O'Shea to to the stage and kept the students dancing until well into the small hours.
