A TRIP to the Bernabeau, the world famous Prado Museum and the Palace of El Escorial were just a few of the treats enjoyed by students of St Brigid's on a trip to the Spanish capital of Madrid.
The 35-strong party was joined by four teachers, as part of their Cultural Studies, within the Spanish Department at the Killarney school.
A guided tour of some of the city's most famous sights also included the bull-fighting ring, the royal palace, the market and the main square. Meanwhile, on show at The Prado Museum were European masterpieces by painters such as Goya, Velaquez and El Greco.
Of course there was plenty of time in between to experience Spanish cuisine such as paella, jamon serrano and churros con chocolate before the journey back home to reality.
