The Stacks from Ahabeg are organising a benefit bingo in memory of their late dad Estie Stack, who grew up in Fortwilliam, Abbeydorney and attended Killahan NS as a youngster, along with his four sisters.

Four of Estie's daughters then went on to attend Killahan, so it was no surprise that the family felt the need to give something back.

"We're well aware of all the cutbacks schools are facing at the moment so we wanted to do something for Killahan, which is very special to us," Estie's daughter Bernadette O'Sullivan said. "Our dad was born and reared in Fortwilliam and later went on to live in Ahabeg, but his family and then his children attended Killahan, so it's nice to give something back."

The fundraising bingo will take place at Ardfert Community Centre at 8pm on Thursday, June 27 with some great prizes up for grabs - including mini sheet payouts of €20 per line and €40 per house, and jackpot sheet payouts of €50 per line and €150 per house.

"We're calling all past pupils, families of present pupils and all of Estie's friends and family to come along and support the event," Bernadette said.
