NASHVILLE'S CASEY BLACK TO PERFORM IN MCCARTHY'S
MUSIC fans are in for a treat on Sunday May 18 as Nashville-born Casey Black - the singer-songwriting son of NSAI Hall of Fame songwriter Charlie Black - plays a special gig in McCarthy's Dingle.
Casey wrote his first song at 12 years old, released his first record three years later and signed with EMI Music Publishing Nashville at nineteen, making him one of the youngest staff songwriters on Music Row.
Having established himself at some of Los Angelus's great singer-songwriter venues, like the House of Blues and Hotel Cafe, Casey moved to New York where he met Niall Connolly, the Irish-born figurehead of Brooklyn's Big City Folk scene, which inspired him greatly.
In 2012, Casey returned to Tennessee, where he lives with his wife in a small country house outside of Nashville. His most recent record is 'Lay You In The Loam'.
LITTLE GREEN CARS CHOOSE HOME FOR FESTIVAL GIG
LITTLE Green Cars return to Dingle this Saturday May 3 for a special one-off Féile na Bealtaine gig in the Hillgrove.
The gig is a major coup for the Féile organisers as, aside from a scheduled July appearance at Iveragh Gardens, it is the only festival performance the band, who are on the cusp of big things, play in Ireland this summer.
Little Green Cars impressed in Dingle at Other Voices a few years back and their unique harmonic sound has seen them amass a large following.
LGC play the Hillgrove on Saturday May 3, with support from Booka Brass Band, ticket info is available at FeileNaBealtaine.ie.
