AFTER cycling across eight of Ireland's peninsulas last year, a local teacher was delighted to present Kerry Cancer Support with the spoils of his fundraising drive this week.

Seán Ó Catháin of Scoil Chaitlín Naofa, Cill Mhic a'Domhnaigh cycled the length and breadth of the Ring of Kerry, the Beara Peninsula, the Cooley Peninsula, the Ards Peninsula, the Inishowen Peninsula, the Erris Peninsula, the Clare Peninsula and back to the Dingle Peninsula last summer raising €1,825 for Kerry Cancer Support in the process.

Seán presented the funds to local Kerry Cancer Support representatives Tom Hutch and Cornelius Ó Beaglaoich this week.

Cycling for charity is an annual undertaking for Seán and this summer he intends to cycle the Wild Atlantic Way which stretches all the way from Kinsale to Derry.

The recipients this year will once again be Kerry Cancer Support's Kerry Health Link Bus which transports people to and from Kerry to Cork University Hospital who for radiotherapy treatments. Seán is currently fundraising for this summer's initiative and anyone who wishes to contribute may contact him on 086-8044416.
