School turns on the style

OVER 600 dedicated followers of fashion made their way to Abbeyfeale on Thursday night to support the transition year students and staff from Coláiste Íde agus Iosef, Abbeyfeale, who organised a hugely successful masquerade fashion show in memory of former teacher Sarah McGarry who tragically lost her battle with cancer a few months ago.

Funds raised on the night are being donated to the Irish Cancer Society. Exactly how much was raised is expected to be known in the coming days.

The event showcased the Spring/Summer collection of 2013 from boutiques in Abbeyfeale, Newcastle West, Listowel, Tralee and Killarney, with students and teachers taking turns on the catwalk. A highlight of the event was a fully choreographed teacher's dance routine, which incorporated a brush dance and 'Ganghnam Style' much to the delight of the audience.
