The death occurred last week after a brief illness of Ned P O Sullivan of Mullen. The late Ned had a wonderful interest in football and was joint President of Scartaglen GAA Club at the time of his death. He was a wonderful supporter of the local club and rarely missed a match where Scartaglen were involved. The local GAA club provided a guard of honour at the removal of the remains and again on the day of the burial. The deceased was also a keen race-goer and attended many Kerry race meetings in his lifetime. The late Ned is survived by his wife Maureen, by his daughters Mary and Joan, and by his sons Philip and Jerh and by his sister Nora Mai and brothers Jackie and Philip. Burial took place in Scartaglen cemetery. Another recent death was that of Sheila Burke of Ballymacpierse, Ballymacelligott. The late Sheila was originally Sheila Browne and was formerly from Scartaglen. She was pre-deceased by her husband Redmond and is survived by her daughters and sons. The late Sheila was laid to rest in Kilbannivane Cemetery. May they Rest In Peace.
