THE FOUNDERS of the hugely successful Kenmare Food Carnival are setting their sights higher again, with their attempt to win the nationwide Arthur Guinness Project competition.
The competition sees ideas for community projects from all over the country going against each other in a bid to gain the backing of the Guinness company.
'Kenmare Foodies' is the brainchild of Karen Coakley, founding member and chairperson of Kenmare Food Carnival, and began as a blog last year after Karen and friend Derick McMahon worked voluntarily together on the first ever food carnival.
After another hugely successful carnival this year, they have decided to turn 'Kenmare Foodies' into a business where they can share their passion for food and also continue to organise and act as consultants for food-themed events and festivals around the country, particularly in the private and corporate sector.
With 102 votes at present, Karen and Derick need your help and you can vote at www.arthurguinnessprojects.com.
