PARENTS of newborn babies will get the chance to share their experiences with one another and learn much more about the whole area through a new group that is to begin meeting in town shortly.
The Baby and Me Group is delivered by the Listowel Public Health Nurse in partnership with the Listowel Family Resource Centre and begins in the centre at 10am on Wednesday, September 6, next, running for eight weeks.
Health and development of the child are the key areas the course will look at.
"We aim to provide interesting and informative sessions for new parents on the various issues surrounding the health and development of the baby," Parent Support Worker at the Family Resource Centre Jo Lambe explained.
"The group will also offer an opportunity for new parents in the community to meet and talk about shared experiences, while their babies make new little friends," she said.
The group will focus on a specific area of the development of newborn babies each week, ranging from physio for mothers to baby massage and much more.
Health care professionals will attend on a weekly basis to address any concerns new parents might have arising from the sessions.
