CORA WALSH: A sense of sadness was evident around the parish on Wednesday last as news reached us of the death of Cora Walsh, High Road, Mountcollins. Cora passed away in Milford Hospice, surrounded by her family and she accepted her illness with great patience and dignity. She was a member of the wellknown O'Connell family from the village and she dedicated her life to the teaching profession. Cora spent over thirty years in Mountcollins NS where she was well respected by teachers, pupils and parents as teacher and vice principal. Cora's popularity and that of her family was evident on Thursday evening as huge crowds came to pay their respects in Hartnett's Funeral Home in Abbeyfeale and again on Friday for her requiem mass and burial in Mountcollins. Many tributes were paid during the requiem mass as Cora was remembered fondly as a wife, mother, teacher, neighbour and friend. Sympathy is extended to her husband Johnny, sons Timothy and Donagh, brothers Patrick and Gerard and her extended family and many friends. May she rest in peace.
Numbers drawn last week were 1, 8, 19 and 28, no jackpot winner. Lucky dips to John Daly, Brosna; Donal McCarthy; Ciara Audsley and Paddy Sheehan, all from Mountcollins. Promoter's prize to Brett Audsley. This week's jackpot is E10,800.
