The Ballroom Dancing classes continue every Monday night in the hall in Ballyhahill from 9.00 until 11.00. Everyone welcome.
Anyone who wants to learn how to play Whist or anyone who might have played Whist before and would like to brush up on it again can come along to The Resource Centre in Loughill for the next few Sunday nights at 8.30 p.m. Our usual Whist Drives on the Sunday nights will be commencing after that.
THE TOMATHON 2012 WALK:
Tommy Moran and his friends have undertaken their 250 km walk to The Red Cow for Pieta House the charity dedicated to suicide and self harm prevention. Today Wednesday the walk goes from Newcastle West to Adare. Cash donations can be made anywhere along the route and online donations can be made at www.mycharity.ie search for the tomathon. Thanks to all the people who are sending in donations on a daily basis for this worthy cause. Tommy Moran has set himself a target of €100,000 for this walk.
A number of fundraising nights have been held recently. Thanks to Claire Wallace in Glin for the use of her premises Saturday night last for the fundraising night and thanks to everyone who bought tickets or helped in any way with the raffle. A fund raising night was held at Brown Joe's in Athea Sunday night last. Thanks to Tommy and Marcella O'Grady for their hospitality, for the lovely food and the sponsorship prize and again thanks to all the people who bought tickets and supported the raffle.
BOOK OF POETRY
Peg Prendeville will be launching her new poetry book "The Purple Pencil" in early November. It is a collection of sonnets, villanelles and haiku. This will make nice gift for Christmas for friends or relations. It costs €10, is a slim volume and is being published by Red Hen Publishing Co. Duagh, Co. Kerry.
BALLYHAHILL CHURCH CHOIR
A choir practice was held in Ballyhahill Church Monday evening last at 7 p.m. An invitation is extended to anyone who would be interested in participating in the choir. Practice time for the choir can be rearranged to suit members.
ANNIVERSARY MASSES THIS WEEK
There was an anniversary mass for the late Bridie Griffin, Loughill in Loughill Church Tuesday evening last at 7.30 p.m. and an anniversary mass will be offered for the late Kathy Long in Ballyhahill Church Saturday evening at 8. 00 p.m.
CHURCH GATE COLLECTIONS
All Church Gate Collections must be notified to Fr. O'Leary at least two weeks in advance so that it can be announced in the newsletter the week before. This arrangement will avoid any possibility of two collections taking place the same day.
SICK OF THE PARISH
Please note that Limerick Regional Hospital or St. John's hospital in Limerick does not make the list of patients in hospital available to priests any more. Fr. O'Leary would be very grateful if parishioners would let him know when a member of their family is sick or in hospital.
Bally Rovers will hold a meeting in the clubhouse this Thursday night 13th. September at 8.00 p.m. to finalize details for our walk and cycle Sunday next 16th. September.
ANNUAL SPONSORED WALK AND CYCLE
Bally Rovers are holding a sponsored walk and a cycle on Sunday 16th September. There is two cycles one is 20 Km. and the other is 40 Km. The sign in time for the cycles is 1.30 p.m. and the cycle starts at 2.00 p.m. sharp. Our annual sponsored walk will be starting at 2.00 p.m. also from the clubhouse. For more information contact.
