LIXNAW CCÉ

On Tue last, 30th Oct,39 young members and 17 adult members travelled on a return train journey to Dublin courtsey of Irish Rail. Irish Rail launched a promotion back in April called 'The Journey's on us', inviting groups from all over Ireland to apply for a free train journey for up to 50 people. With up to 500 words available to submit their reasons ect, Lixnaw CCÉ got to work and were lucky to be one of the 100 groups selected from the 700 applcations. Radio Kerry were at the station to interview some about the trip and indeed it proved to be a wonderful day. Taking in both the History Museum and the National Museum of Ireland, Dáil Éireann and finishing with a little shopping on Grafton St, all arrived back on the late train safely and very happy. All the young members were well deserving of a trip like this and we extend huge gratitude to Irish Rail for such a wonderful chance. Míle buíochas agus Iarnród Éireann abú!. Blue Hoodies: Please note that we have recieved a new batch of Blue 'Lixnaw Comhaltas' hoodies and these are for sale in the Ceolann shop for €25, various sizes available.
