Library closed for upgrade

KILLARNEY Library members whose books are due back this week won't have to return them until next week and no fines will be charged.
That's because the library is closed this week for vital maintenance and upgrade works, which are due to finish this Friday, November 22, and the library will open the following day.
The works will include an upgrade of the heating system, so it is not possible to keep the library open to the public while the works are taking place.
Town Manager John Breen said closing the library while the work is being done means the job will be carried out quicker and at less cost.
Users were allowed to borrow additional books free of library charges last week and fines will not be charged on books due back this week only. Users may avail of library services from any of the other Kerry libraries in the meantime, including the Mobile Library.
