Letters: Searching for Foley family members

Sir, I am very keen to get in touch with any descendants of Sylvester Foley who was born sometime in the late 1700s near Killarney. My name is Joanne Foley and I am searching for any descendants of Sylvester and his wife Ellen. The following is the little information I have on this family and would love to hear from anyone connected to them.

Sylvester is my 3 X great grandfather - I've no idea if he was born in the area but I know that he was a farmer around Ards. He and his wife Ellen (nee Casey) were married in Killarney on February 10, 1807. They had at least four children although there could well have been more but I have not been able to find any record for them.

The following are those I do have:

Hannah Foley, born in 1809 and baptised on 18 Sept 1809 in Killarney

Patrick Foley, born on March 4, 1821 in Killarney

Michael Foley, born in 1825 and baptised on January 17, 1825 in Killarney (the family address at the time was Ards)

John Foley, born on 14 April 1831 in Killarney (the family address at the time was Ards)

John migrated to England where he married an Ellen McCarthy who was also from Killarney and they had a family there, of which I descend.

I'm hoping to trace family from any of the other children and hope some might still be in Kerry. I'm guessing any of John's children's descendants would either be here in England or have moved on to other countries

If anyone has found they are linked to this family you can contact me by e-mail at justjellibean@hotmail.com.

Sincerely,

Joanne Foley.
