Forthcoming Events - Sunday June 30th: Mid-summer Bar-B-Q and Thomas Moore Celebration Concert at KSM Tralee
The annual Barbeque for school funds takes place this coming Sunday June 30th from 5pm: Children's games, live entertainment marquee, popcorn , competitions, spot-prizes and of course, wonderful food. Admission: €10/€8. Family rates available.
7.30pm: Thomas Moore Tribute. To celebrate the 200th anniversary day of the publication of The Last Rose of Summer, a special 70-minute concert celebrating the Bard of Erin, the creator of The Minstrel Boy, The Meeting of the Waters and many other classic songs. Featuring Kerry Chamber Choir and Soloists Admission: €10/€8.

The twenty-sixth Annual KSM Summer School takes place on two separate weeks at the start of July - Monday to Friday, July 1st -5th and 8th - 12th. The popularity of the mornings-only summer school has remained undimmed over the years and has many unique elements, most notably the 'scratch orchestra'. Booking has been heavy but a limited number of places is still available. All enquiries to School office at 066-7125690.
A special awards evening - the first of its kind in Kerry School of Music's thirty one year history - will take place in September to honour the outstanding achievement of all students in the summer examinations hosted by the school. Over two hundred students who took Royal Irish Academy of Music, Royal Academy of Dance and London College of Music/Registry of Guitar Teachers examinations in May will formally receive their parchment certificates.
Kerry Youth Symphony Inaugural Summer Academy, August 12th-16th.
A welcome development with so many advanced String and Wind students scattered throughout the county ready for a bigger than usual challenge. The Academy will have sectional and full orchestra rehearsals daily culminating in a full concert on the Friday evening. Fun and games and activities built in through the week. CHURCHILL COMMUNITY GAMES: Congratulation to all our young athletes who took part in Kerry Community Games finals in Castleisland last weekend, not only those who got medals and certificates but those who were not successful, it could be your turn next year.
Well done to coaches, parents and supporters who travelled to cheer them on.
