At long last on September 9 we were able to host our One Day Event. Thanks to the Arthur's family of Kielduff for use of their fantastic facilites. Thanks also to Michael Costello for use of his field for parking, Brian Quilter, vet on Call, Ambulance paramedics,. Thanks to all our members and many non-members who put in hours of work to make the day run so smoothly, other individuals were roped in and kindly helped before and on the day. Thanks to all our generous sponsors for the prizes, Bridles & Bits, Kerry Agri, Cass Foley, Macroom Motorfactors, Twomeys. There was a great turnout from the Southwest Region as well as other regions.
The weather cleared for the most part and a great day was had by all. Much work was put into the cross country course and several new obstacles were there to test both horse and rider. Thankfully we didn't have to use the ambulance that was on site. The first two fences proved tricky and made up most of the refusals. The new two part water element for higher grades jumped exceedingly well. All riders were happy with the distances and time allowed.
Congratulations to all those who participated.
