The Kerry Association London's GoKerry.ie campaign in the British capital has received special commendations from two of the most influential organisations in County Kerry during the annual Rose of Tralee international festival.
Earlier this year the association launched an initiative where 100s of Kerry owned vans in London started carrying GoKerry.ie, decals advertising the county as a tourist destination in London.
On Sunday night last Paidraig McGillicuddy, president of newly launched Tralee Chamber Alliance, praised the association's efforts at a special function that was organised to welcome members of international organisations that run Rose of Tralee centres all over the world to Tralee.
Mr McGillicuddy, speaking to a packed Abbey Inn in Tralee stated the van promotion was one of the best methods of promoting Kerry to an overseas market he had ever come across. The KAL was represented at this function by Noel O'Sullivan and Sean Moriarty.
Meanwhile nominations are open for the Kerry Person of the Year. This year's presentation will be made at the Crown Moran Hotel in Cricklewood on October 26 and association members are encouraging early nominations this year in an effort the cast the net even wider and find the most worthy winner of the prestigious Denis Reidy Memorial award and follow in the footsteps of current person of the year Denis Nolan.
The association holds regular meetings at The Kingdom Bar and new members are always welcome. Enquires about membership or any of the association's events can be directed towards secretary Tara Cronin on +44 7939 017022 or any committee member.
