Getting creative juices flowing as 'Write A Book' is launched

A gathering at the launch of the Write A Book project at Scoil Muire gan Smál Primary School on Monday morning. Included are: Deirdre Fitzgerald, Kerry Education and Training Board; Maura Browne, deputy principal; Leona Twiss, principal and Maggie Prendiville, Kerry Education and Training Board course tutor.

A launch of the DEIS 'Write a Book' project took place in Scoil Muire Gan Smal on Monday morning.

Parents and pupils involved were presented with a copy of their publication by Maire Browne and Deirdre Fitzgerald.

Maggie Prendiville, the Kerry ETB tutor delivered the excellent project. This project encourages the development of writing and reading skills and it aims to promote positive learning among the participants.


Members of the local branch of the Kerry Hospice Foundation would like to thank all those who took part in the Good Friday walk. €2,524.00 euro was raised for the charity.


Liz and Amber Galwey would like to sincerely thank all those who supported their recent tea day fundraiser in aid of the Alzheimer's society.

The amount raised greatly exceeded their expections and €1,580 has been forward to the society.


Cordal poet Jimmy Cullinane is busy these days canvassing support for A Rambling House Special in Scartaglin on Saturday afternoon.

The event will be held at Browne's Bar here in Castleisland on this Friday night, May 23rd at 8pm. All are welcome.
