Gathering at the Day Care Centre

The year of The Gathering has inspired Castleisland Day Care Centre to host a gathering week of its own at the centre.
"While the aim of the gathering nationwide is to mobilize the Irish diaspora to return to Ireland during 2013, Castleisland Day Care Centre has come up with a week-long event in an effort to raise awareness of the day care services being provided in our own community," according to nurse manager Marcella Finn.
"A gathering event not only means people travelling from abroad for events but it can also be a lot more local and within our own community. We have the potential for very successful 'gatherings' and particularly at the day care centre where we have such a wealth of knowledge, music and folklore under the one roof," said Ms. Finn.
"We are particularly seeking out older people who may not have any experience of Castleisland Day Care Centre. For one week we are extending an open invitation to any older person in our area to come and visit us for a day. Not only will they see for themselves our excellent facilities and services but it will also be a great opportunity to meet old friends. We are planning a fun week at the day centre with music, song and story-telling. So, come on let's get The Gathering off the ground in the Castleisland area," said Marcella.
Gathering dates for Castleisland Day Care Centre are: Monday April 8th to Friday, April 12th.
This is an open invitation with no charge for invited guests. If transport is required you're advised to call Kerry Community Transport on 1890 528 528 or speak with nurse manager Marcella Finn if you have any further queries on: 066 71 43865.
