ON Thursday next, September 6, Newcastle West's Desmond Castle and Banqueting Hall will open its gates for a fashion extravaganza which aims to showcase why the west Limerick capital has become a prime shopping destination for fashion lovers.
Guests at the show will be greeted by hosts in medieval costume and offered complementary drinks and canapés in a marquee on the castle grounds.
In the main banqueting hall of the castle, models from the Celia Holman Lee agency will unveil the Autumn 2012 collections from participating shops, including Aphrodite Bridalwear, Bela Sola, Ela Maria's, G Boutique, Gatsby Menswear, Kimono Boutique, Noel's Menswear, Platform Boutique and Scanlan's Menswear.
In a novel twist, the Irish Tudor Company will also exhibit a selection of fashion from medieval times.
The event is being run in conjunction with Newcastle West and District Chamber of Commerce, who have dedicated much time in working with the OPW to host the event.
The castle is now open free of charge daily to the public during the summer months and is already proving very popular with tourists.
