The Dyslexia and Dypsraxia North Kerry Parent Support will be holding a summer camp at the Listowel Resource Centre in July, in conjunction with the Sunflower Clinic, to help people overcome the obstacle these conditions can represent.
The group hosted the Marie Stubbings Summer School for the first time last year and it was well-attended with children and parents finding it of great benefit. They now hope to build on this success.
Marie Donnelly, an occupational therapists working in the same field, runs a regular clinic every Monday at the Centre, with the support group meeting there on the first Friday of each month from September to June.
The camp takes place at Listowel Family Resource Centre from July 22 until July 26. Booking forms and information are available on www.sunflowerclinic.ie. Alternatively phone the clinic on (021) 4321729. Booking forms are also available from Listowel Family Resource Centre. The closing date for receipt of bookings is Friday. May 31. For all enquires on the support group contact Mary on (087) 6097718, or email; firstname.lastname@example.org.
The centre, meanwhile, is holding a jumble sale on Thursday, June 13, from 3 - 5pm.
A wide variety of items will be available.
