LONDON-BASED building contractor Danny Tim O'Sullivan was back in Killorglin last week to visit the residents of St Joseph's Home and hand over the impressive proceeds of a very special night in the process.

A whopping €10,000 was raised at the annual Dollis Hill dance in London, otherwise known as the Killorglin Reunion Charity Dance, and the Kells native made sure the cheque was personally delivered.

Coinciding with the Kerry Association of London weekend, the Dollis Hill dance continues to grow and St Mary and St Andrew's Social Club was again packed to capacity in November with music by The OC Trio from Scartaglin, as well as several special guests.

At the helm was Danny Tim, the former London-Kerry Person of the Year who has now raised over €60,000 for St Joseph's after funds from this latest event were counted.

Typical of the man, he was quick to thank those who supported before, during and after the night.

"It was really well supported by local people and a great contingent made the trip over, so I would like to thank everyone individually from the bottom of my heart, including all of our sponsors, everyone who donated on the night and since, and anyone who helped sell tickets," he said.

"I suppose this is our fourth or fifth year and we hope to keep going for many, many years to come," he added.

The cheque was officially presented to Sr Consilii, Sr Helena and members of the St Joseph's Home fundraising committee.
