Curtain to be raised on drama festival next month

THE 26th annual Kerry Drama Festival will take place at the Ivy Leaf Art Centre here in Castleisland from Friday March 1st to Friday March 8th. The event is held under the auspices of the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland. It has been held in Castleisland each year since its revival in 1988.

The list of plays for this year's festival has just been released and it reads as follows:

Friday March 1st; Not Now Darling by Ray Cooney and John Chapman, Haulbowlin Theatre Group;

Saturday March 2nd; Eden by Eugene O' Brien, Shoestring Theatre Company;

Sunday March 3rd; The Hen Night Epiphany by Jimmy Murphy, Skibbereen Theatre Society;

Monday March 4th; The God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza, Holycross/Ballycahill Drama Group;

Tuesday March 5th; From These Green Heights by Dermot Bolger, Brideview Drama Group;

Wednesday March 6th; The Loves of Cass Maguire by Brian Friel, Amphitheatre Company;

Thursday March 7th; Translations by Brian Friel, Dooega Drama Group and on

Friday March 8th; Callaghans Place by John MacDwyer, Palace Players

Adjudicator for the week is Geoffrey O' Keeffe. Admission: Adults €10. Concession €8.
