HUNDREDS of enthusiastic runners gathered in the small village of Currow for the Charity Five Kilometre Fun Run, which was held on Sunday, March 3.

The event was saw a whopping 475 people of all ages participate in the walk and fun-run, which was in aid of Kerry Hospice, Palliative Care and Aghadoe Ward.

Organiser Catriona McGuire has expressed her delight at the event's huge turnout.

"It was a massive success. It was my first time organising something like this and I could never have anticipated the outstanding response and support that we received. We've raised a brilliant amount of money for these wonderful causes".

The event wasn't just for walkers and runners though, as other aspects of the day such as face-painting, a raffle and refreshments ensured that the event was an unmissable day out for all the family.

We're definitely going to make it an annual event", Ms McGuire said.
