The death has occurred on February 2nd 2017, of Ralph Toomey of Dirha Cottages.
The death took place on 2nd February of Eamon Pelican of Moyvane South. Predeceased by his sister Tess Geoghegan. Survived by nephew Stephen, niece Joanne, grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives, neighbours, and many friends. Mass for Eamon was celebrated in the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane on 4th of February, followed by burial in Ahavoher Cemetery.

Prayer for the Sick
The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes is celebrated on 11th Feb. This is World day of Prayer for the Sick. Blessing of the sick will take place in Abbeyfeale on Saturday morning at 11am.
Lios Tuathail AC
Munster Indoors: Last weekend saw the U9-U12 Munster indoors take place over Saturday and Sunday in Nenagh Olympic indoor track and Lios Tuathail AC were out in force. On Saturday saw the boys 60m dash and field events with the girls long distance races.
First up for Lios Tuathail AC were the U9 boys 60m dash, taking part were Steve Reidy, Odhran Buckley, Ajay Barrett, Joseph McElligott and Odhran Barry. Progressing to the semi-finals were Steve Reidy, Odhran Buckley and AJ Barrett and to the final Steve Reidy who won silver. This group of boys all took part in the long jump doing extremely well with Odhran Buckley and Steve Reidy tied on 8th overall. This was a first time for all the athletes and they ran outstandingly.
In the U10 boys: Dylan O Callaghan, Ronan Sheridan, Jeremiah Galvin and Maurice Galvin running smoothly in the 60m dash. Both Dylan and Ronan made it through to the semi-finals and Dylan finishing 8th in the final. In the Long Jump Ronan Sheridan jumped a huge 3.60m to take gold on the podium. Maurice, Dylan and Jeremiah all done extremely well at this event and enjoyed the experience.
In the U11 boys 60m dash John Carmody, Tadhg O Connor, Gavin Dillon and Mark McElligott all making it through to the semi-finals and running well. All this group of u11 boys took part in the long jump and enjoyed the experience.
In the boys U12 60m were Mike Galvin who progressed to a hotly contested final, Mike ran extremely well and finished 7th. Luke Sheridan, Padraig Enright and Bobby O Riordan ran well with Luke and Padraig making the semi --finals. Luke Sheridan finished 8th in the Long Jump with a jump of 3.63m. Mike, Padraig and Bobby done well in this big field of long jumpers and the experience will stand to them.
Moving on to Sunday with the weather temperatures taking a drop overnight leading to some slippery local roads all our athletes arrived safely in Nenagh. First up were the U9 girls and representing Lios Tuathail AC was Eliza O Donnell this was a first taste of the Munsters for this little lady and we are sure she will see more. Eliza took part in the 60m and Long Jump.
U10 girls: Amy O Connor, Tally Collins, Holly Boyle and Katie Walsh all girls progressed to the semi-finals and going through to the final went Amy O Connor. In the final Amy took bronze a great achievement following on from her silver of 2016. All girls took part in the long jump.
U11 girls: Emma Neylon, Molly O Riordan, Eimear Buckley, Maria Tritchler and Aoibhinn Buckley. Missing on the day was Saoirse Dillon and we wish her a speedy recovery and Orla McElligott and we send our good wishes to her Nan.
In the 60m sprint Emma Neylon, Molly Riordan progressed to the semi-finals and running well in their heats and unlucky not to progress was Eimear Buckley, Maria Tritchler and Aoibhinn Buckley. All girls took part in the long jump.
Thanks to all coaches who assisted over the two days: Margaret O Neill, Rochelle Griffin O Riordan, Siobhan O Connor, Margaret Collins, Padraig O Donnell, Pat Buckley, Susan Galvin and Albert Barrett. Thanks to all our athletes who put all the training to good use, and this experience which was a first for many and it will stand to you all over your athletics journey. Thanks to all the parents who helped in any way possible without your assistance this would not be possible. Already we are looking forward to the next event!!
AAI Indoors Games: On Sunday Kevin Lynch got to be the first Lios Tuathail AC athlete to try out the new National Indoor Stadium and I=92m sure we will have an update on this for next weeks notes.

Parents Plus for Teens

Participants must bring their own tablets, This four-week six-hour course will feature basic tablet navigation, how to connect to WI-FI networks, how to use the internet on tablets and how to download and manage apps. St Michael's drama group
The group will stage ''The Maiden Aunt'' at Ceolamnn from February 16th 20th.

The numbers drawn in last week's Mountcollins AFC lotto were 11 19 26 28. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. Bruach na Carraige
Bruach na Carraige in Rockchapel is delighted to be part of the Blood Alley Theatre Company's 'Fit up Theatre Festivals''. Following their two brilliant plays last Wednesday night in Bruach na Carraige, the Blood Alley Theatre Company's professional actors are back in Rockchapel on tonight, Wednesday, Feb 8 with a play Green and Blue by Laurence McKeown. On Wednesday night, February 15, they will present My Real Life by Eoin Cotter. Performances commence each night at 8pm sharp and all are welcome.
Mountcollins Community Council are holding a bingo session in the Community Centre on Sunday week, Feb 19, commencing at 3pm. The event will have €2,000 in prizemoney and a raffle will also be held during the evening. All proceeds go towards ongoing improvement to the hall and your support is very much appreciated.
Sympathy is extended to Willie Leahy, Caherlevoy, Mountcollins on the death of his sister, Elsie Guerin, late of Mountkeefe, Newmarket who passed away in Marymount Hospice, Cork after a short illness. Her remains were laid to rest in Clonfert Cemetery on last Thursday after Requiem Mass in Newmarket. May she rest in peace.
There was no jackpot winner in last week's Mountcollins/Tournafulla GAA clubs lotto. Numbers drawn were 11 19 21 24. Lucky dips Cardine Finnegan, Christina Finnegan, Larry and Margie Curtin and West Limerick GAA Board. The promoters prize went to Mike Sheehy. This week's draw will be held in Keatings Bar, Tournafulla where the jackpot will be €7700.
Yearly lotto tickets
The yearly lotto ticket is now up for renewal for most club members at the end of February which entitles you to lotto for the year and club membership. The new ticket will be sent to members in the coming weeks. Any person who has their ticket paid for by March 1st will go into a draw for two Munster football final tickets as well as two Munster hurling final tickets. The cost of tickets is €100 for the year. The club would like to thank you for your continued support.
The annual collection for our parish sacristan, Catherine Lenihan will be held next weekend. We are very fortunate in Mountcollins to have the service and dedication which Catherine gives to the Church on a daily basis on our behalf. You are asked to show your appreciation next weekend in the collection envelope.
