THE Staff of Martin Moore and Company in Blennerville are organising a 5km Santa Fun Run in aid if the Make a Wish Foundation next month in honour of Martin's daughter Fiona who, sadly, passed away earlier this year.
The Santa Fun Run takes place on Sunday December 15 and will begin at 12 noon at the Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre.
It has been organised in memory of Martin and Deirdre Moore's 16-year-old daughter Fiona, who passed away in May of this year while waiting on a lung transplant.
Fiona had been diagnosed with primary pulmonary hypertension, and was on the transplant list since June 2012.
The fun run route will leave from Tralee Bay Wetlands and take runners out to Blennerville onto Kearneys Road, through Ballyard and back to the Tralee Bay Wetlands centre.
Registration costs €5 for under 16s, €7 for an adult and €20 for a family. You can register to take part by logging onto the Tralee Santa Fun Run Facebook page or by visiting www.activeglobal.com
There is a prize for the best Dressed Santa, and people are encouraged to come dressed up.
All the proceeds will benefit the Make A Wish foundation, who brought Fiona to London for what was a trip of a lifetime and during which she met her hero author Jacqueline Wilson.
