THE family jewels of four Listowel men admirably withstood exposure to the rigours of the Kerry summer recently in another enticing shot for forthcoming calendar '38 Shades of Listowel'!
Brave water-sportsmen John Foley, Kieran O'Sullivan, Kevin O'Sullivan and Peter Murphy (pictured) were off with the keks to go kayaking in aid of the charity calendar being released on the eve of the Races.
Local photographer Pat Healy captured all the magic of the moment - which appears to show the lads inventing a new game called naked kayak throwing. Whatever the exact nature of the scene, it's all for a very important cause - five local sea and inland rescue units that played a key role in the recent search for Listowel man John Lynch who tragically lost his life in the swollen waters of the Feale.
'38 Shades of Listowel' - a play on the title of hit steamy novel '50 Shades of Grey' - will be launched in the Horseshoe Bar on Saturday, September 15 on the eve of the Listowel Races 2012.
