Members of the local bereavement support group have issued an invitation to one and all to their open night. This will be held at the North and east Kerry Development offices at The Crageens on Thursday night, October 10 from 7pm - 9pm.
The event will be attended by a list of speakers and light refreshments will be provided.
The open night will mark the second anniversary of the founding of the 'Meala Bereavement Awareness Group' in Castleisland.
The organisers see the event as a means of getting those grieving in the aftermath of an over-powering loss to come in and see for themselves the links, support and understanding the group can put at their disposal to help put them on a road to recovery.
"We were formed in 2011 and the group has grown from strength to strength. We're taking this opportunity to let people out there know that there's no need to suffer in silence and on your own," said founder member, Jean Horgan.
"We are there for each other and we can assure you of total confidence and we are supported by a whole list of agencies which can steer people along a course to where they learn to deal with their great loss.
"Eilish Moynihan is a founder member and present chairperson and, through our poster campaign and putting the word out, we are getting more people to attend our gatherings.
We meet on the second Thursday night of each month and we're preparing now for our 'Open Night' and we hope to see as many people as possible there," said Jean.
