The Parish of Ballydonoghue and beyond was deeply shocked and saddened last Friday, April 27th, to learn of the sudden passing of Bill Fitzgearld, R.I.P. Glouria, Lisselton. Bill was a larger than life character who had a tremendous sense of humour and anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting him came away much the better for the experience. He had a genuine love of life and had a deep interest in Gaelic Football. His interest in Gaelic football went back to his youth when he won a Munster Junior Medal playing with Limerick in 1963. Bill was very much involved in the local club in particular with under age and served as Bord Na Nog Secretary for 10 years and also served as Joint Treasurer for a number of years. As well as being a selector for the Shannon Rangers minor team that won the county C'ship. Following that he became Secretary of North Kerry Coiste Na Nog a position he has held for the last 20 years up to his untimely death. We extend our deepest Sympathy to his wife Nora his four children Maeve, Aiden, Kathleen, and Noel.
