A special thanks to the members of the local branch of Comhaltas who held this event and to also to the Asdee hall committee for the use of the hall. Irish Night An Irish night will be held on this Saturday night May 4th at Courtney's Bar Ballybunion. All musicians, singers and dancers are very welcome. Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí: Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí will be held in Ballybunion from the 18th to 23rd June 2013. Anyone wishing to include articles for the Fleadh Programme please submit them to any member of the Fleadh Committee asap.

OPENING

The new Bar at the Golf Hotel will officially open this Saturday night at 11 pm with Sean O Dowd and Hanora Everyone welcome .

WEEKEND

The Patrica NAGLE Memorial Weekend will be held this Saturday in the Tintean Theatre Walk to Cnoc Na Oir on Saturday from Tintean 11am. Also on Saturday Night band Oracle at 9pm . All in Aid of Charity call 06828003 please support .

BALLYDONOGHUE LISSELTON

BALLYDONOGHUE PARISH MAGAZINE: Ballydonoghue Parish Magazine are urgently looking for your photos and memories of Hegarty's Hall. Please give them to Marion O'Connor or any member of the committee as soon as possible. The committee extend their congratulations to Delia o'Sullivan, Ballybunion, on her success in the National Active Retirement Association Literary Competition. Delia' s work took second prize in the nationwide competition, she is also a regular contributer to Ballydonoghue Parish Magazine and has won the Creative Writing competition on numerous occasions. The next committee meeting will be on Tuesday next, May 7th at Lisselton School. Time: 8.00pm.

LARTIGUE MONORAIL AND MUSEUM

The official opening of The Lartigue Monorail and Museum, by the French Ambassador, Mrs Emmanuelle d'Achon will take place on Saturday next, May 4th, in Listowel at 2pm. Everybody welcome.

The Overall performers for 2013 went to Shane Madden and Ciara Fitzgerald. Well done all. A special word of thanks to Jackie Hegarty and all in Tomáisín's for their cooperation as always.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION:

On Saturday next, May 4th, the children of the schools in the parish will receive their First Holy Communion at 11.00am. This is a big day in the school calendar and everybody's best wishes go to the children and the teachers who put in an amount of preparation to make it a memorable day for all concerned.

BALLYDUFF

OLD SCHOOL PHOTOS: On Sunday June 2nd Sliabh a' Mhadra National School will hold a Gathering Celebration. It will also mark the amalgamation of Sliabh a' Mhadra and The Cashen Schools in 1973. On the day it is hoped to have a display of photographs from both schools of days gone by. If you have any old school photos please drop them off to Sliabh a' Mhadra N.S. over the next few weeks. All photos will be scanned and returned to their owners. Your co-operation on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

HORSE FAIR

It's that time of year again. Ballyduff Horse Fair committee are organising their annual horse fair event. A Meeting will take place in Purcell's Village Inn Bar, Ballyduff on this Friday May 3rd at 9.30pm sharp.

BINGO

On Friday May 10th, Ballyduff Community Council will host a "Bingo with a difference" in aid of The Listowel Community Hospital Hospice Care Unit. This is the third year they have held this event as tribute to a number of their regular players who have passed away from Cancer. It will be held on Friday 10th of May in the Ballyduff Community Centre at 8.30pm. ST JOSEPH'S N.S. BOULEENSHERE

Congratulations to the girls of 5th and 6th class who won silver medals at the Cumann Na mBunscoil mini 7's Camogie competition recently in Abbeydorney. Eight teams took part. Bouleenshere had wins over Ardfert, Killury and Kilmoyley before losing the final to Lixnaw. This was a close match. Well done to Keeva Reidy, (capt) Maggie Lynch, Lisa Kearney, Katie O'Halloran, Michelle O'Halloran, Ella O'Reagan, Kerrie Daley and Donna O'Carroll. One of these girls will be chosen to represent the school and play in Croke Park in August. Also good luck to Bryan Sheehan, Ricky Hussey, Maggie Lynch and Kerrie Daley who qualified for hurling skills finals which take place in Austin Stacks Park shortly. Best of luck to the U-10 draughts team who have won gold in Kerry and Munster and will take part in the Community Games - All Ireland final in Athlone at the end of May. They are busy practicing at the moment: David O'Sullivan, Adam Dineen, Dara Kearney, Denis Lynch, Dara Donnelly, Shane O'Connell and Niall Griffin.

Amidst news of harsh cutbacks and trying times the Kerry Parents and Friends Association are preparing to celebrate 40 years of supporting adults with an intellectual disability throughout Kerry. BALLYLONGFORD/TARBERT C.C.E.: We would like to thank everyone for their support at our annual concert last weekend. It was a great success. The closing date for the Fleadh entries is the 16th May. TIDY TOWN

The Tidy Towns clean up which took place last Thursday evening was a great success. Sincere thanks to all the volunteers who took part. A fundraising cake sale in aid of tidy towns is being held in the parish hall after mass, Saturday evening 4th May. Refreshments also available. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
