The Ballybunion Community Centre Committee would like to extend a sincere thanks to everybody who helped make our Annual Craft Fair such a huge success last Sunday. We are over the moon with the numbers that came through the door, the tables looked amazing, the tea room and the raffle was so well supported. The Christmas tree and the fab background music by Mike Kelly added to the atmosphere.

ST.JOSEPH'S SECONDARY SCHOOL
Congratulations to Dale O'Sullivan and Gearóid Farrell Kendlin , both fifth years. Last Saturday October 13th both were very successful in competitions in Ballybunion Golf Club. Dale was presented with his trophy which he won for winning 'Junior Golfer of the Year'. Gearóid on Saturday won the biggest event in the junior golf calender in the club, 'Junior Masters Competition'. The best twelve juniors competed against each other in a stroke play competition. He won the competition with a four over par round. He won a Titleist Lob Wedge.
Eight Home Economics students with Miss O'Donovan (Home Economics Teacher), attended a mentoring workshop for ' The Apprentice Chef ' Competition in Institute of Technology Tralee on Friday last October 19th. They were Ísla O'Connor, Sarah Long, Lauren Enright, Michelle Boyle, Sarah Mulvihill, Marissa Molyneaux, Meadhbh Griffin, and Sarah Barry.The school were chosen among the eight schools to attend the mentoring day, from almost 30 entries. It is generously sponsored by I.T.Tralee, Lee Strand, Chapter 40 Restaurant Killarney,Just Cooking Firies, Inner Joy, Utensils and Taste of Kerry. The group were met by Mark Doe ( Just Cooking) on arrival from where they were taken on a guided tour of the Hotel and Catering Department, with all questions answered by Simon Regan ( Chapter 40). Mark Murphy ( I.T.Tralee ) gave an outline of the competition and guidelines. There was then a presentation by Lee Strand. Susan Fitzgerald a well being coach followed.. There then followed an excellent cookery demonstration by Mark Doe and Simon Regan which all found very interesting and informative.
Congratulations to Mrs Walsh ( Principal), the staff and students of Scoil Íosagáin whose school was oficially opened on Monday last October 15th. Every good wish to the school community for a bright future.
