BALLYDONOGHUE PARISH MAGAZINE: The 28th edition of Ballydonoghue Parish Magazine will be launched by well-known Radio Kerry presenter, Deirdre Walsh, on Thursday, December 13that The Thatch. Time 8.00pm.

The Magazine, which will be on sale early next week, is for the first time, an all-colour production, packed with articles and stories divided into sections eg, Youth, Lifestyle, Sports, etc. Don't forget to post the Magazine to parishioners who are domiciled away from home, in time for Christmas. The feedback the Magazine are continually getting confirms that our Diaspora really appreciate this little bit of home every year. The Launch will commence with a cheese and wine reception. The Creative Writing and photographic competition winners will be presented with their awards on the night. The 2012 Young Achiever, multitalented, Jason Foley, Moybella, will also be presented with his award.


The death has occurred of Jeremiah Behan, Lisselton Cross. Jeremiah was a very well-known business man in the area for many years. Removal took place on Tuesday from Lyons Funeral Home, Derry to St Theresa's Church, Ballydonoghue and burial took place in the new cemetery, Ballybunion Rd, Listowel after mass on Wednesday. Sympathy is extended to his sons, Richard, Geraldine and family, Jerry, Margaret-Ann and family, to his brothers, sister, in-laws and extended families and a wide circle of friends.

The death occured last week in the US of David Hegarty, formerly of Tullamore, Listowel. He is son of the late Christy and Mary, Tullamore. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, son, Brendan, twin daughters, Laura and Jennifer, brothers, Denis, Tom, JJ and John, sister, Josephine. Reposing at Lyons Funeral Home, Derry, Listowel on Friday, next, Nov 30th 6.00pm - 8.00pm. Removal at 8.00pm to St Theresa's Church, Ballydonoghue. Mass on Saturday 11.00am and burial in Lislaughtin Abbey immediately afterwards.

The Ballydonoghue Community Alert committee will meet on Thursday, Dec 6th at 8.00pm at Lisselton School.


The future certainly looks brighter as Ballybunion Health and Leisure Centre have secured grant-aid to install a CHP plant which will have a huge impact on energy costs at the facility. The recentlyelected members committee are holding a public meeting tonight, Wednesday, 28th at The Centre. Time: 8.00pm. All current and past members, potential members and anybody interested in the centre are invited to attend. The committee will bring the meeting up to speed with details of Christmas opening times, progress of the CHP plant, etc.
