SET DANCING: West Limerick Set Dancing Club will hold their Set Ceili on this Sunday Sept 7th at The Devon Inn Hotel starting at 4pm. There will be the usual cupan tae agus craic. Everyone welcome for a great afternoon of music, dance and craic.

The Hope Foundation who work with the street children in Calcutta are holding a clothes collection on Tuesday 9th October at the bottle bank here in Athea from 11.30am - 1.30pm. The death took place over the weekend of Joe'O'Connor of Newcastlewest and formerly of Keale-Athea, following an illness for some time. Many came to pay their last respects at the family home on Friday evening. Requiem Mass on Saturday in Newcastlewest Church was followed by burial. Sincere sympathy is extended to his wife Kathleen, sons, daughters, relations and many friends. May the Light of Heaven by His.
Athea Community Council held their Lucky Numbers draw on Saturday night last a Top of the Town. The jackpot on the night was E7200. The numbers drawn were 16,19,24,28. there were no winners.
