As the new school year begins we would like to welcome Miss Doyle and Miss Donovan to the staff of the school and hope they will be very happy working in our school. We would also like to welcome all the new First Year students who joined the school community on Wednesday. New students also joined second year, fifth year and sixth year. We hope they will enjoy their Years in the school. Steffi Kokemor and Pia Bischof have also joined the school in fifth year. They have come from Germany. Olga Stuker has also joined the year from Switzerland as have Laura Gomez and Marta Sole from Spain. Also joining that year is Rebecca Hodoilova from Slovakia. May they be very happy and benefit from their time in St. Joseph's.
We would like to congratulate Mr C Dalton on the birth of his son Conor during the Summer. Every good wish to him and his family. Sincere congratulations also to Mr Daly who got married in July. We wish him and his wife Marie Enright, a past member of staff, a long life of good health and happiness.
The students on the return trip of our school exchange for 2012 from Maria-Koenigin School, Lennestadt, Germany will be arriving in Ballybunion on this Wednesday. This is the fifth year of this very successful exchange.They will be staying with their exchange partners in fifth year, accompanying them to school, exploring the facilities of Ballybunion as well as visiting Tralee and Killarney. We hope that they will enjoy their week with us and find it as beneficial as the fifth year group found their visit to them earlier this year.

The Annual Asdee Races will be held at Littor Strand on Sunday September 30 th with the first race bginning at 12 noon.
ST PIO PRAYER GROUP
The local St Pio Prayer Group will hold their monthly Prayer Meeting at St Mary's Church on this Thursday evening September 6th at 7pm followed by Mass at 8pm.
ASDEE RACE COMMITTEE TABLE QUIZ
The Asdee Race Committee are holding a fund riasing Table Quiz at The Store on this Sunday night September 9th.
The quixmaster for the night is Tom Gorman and good local support would be appreciated.
ACTIVE RETIREMENT OUTING
The local Active Retirement Group are holding an outing to Bunratty Castle Banquet on Sunday October 14th.
It will include a 3 course meal and entertainment afterwards by the Bunratty Castle Singers.
The outing is open to everyone and names should be handed in as soon as possible as the numbers that can go are limited.
KERRY CORAL JUNIOR CHOIR
Congratulations to Miriam Hanlon from the village who has won an audition to train with the Kerry Coral Union Choir. Mimiam who is 11 is a daughter of Tony and Mairead Hanlon and now she is going forward to train with the choir and become a member of it which is a great achievement for her.
Asdee Ramblers House will take place in the Community Centre on this Friday night 7th September at 9pm. Come along and enjoy a wonderful community night out with plenty of music, song, storytelling and recitation. Refreshments will also be served on the night. A greater response from the local community would be gratefully appreciated.
The Sandpipers Golf Society are holding a prize giving ceremony for the Captain's Prize at The Store on this Saturday night Sepytember 8th.at 9 30pm.
