A CAR for a hole in one!
That's the fantastic prize up for grabs should anyone sink their first shot on the seventh par 3 at Listowel Golf Club at an upcoming classic in aid of the Rugby Club.
Yes, you read it right. Lob the ball into the cup with just one shot on the hole and you get a brand-new Volkswagen Up, just arrived to the Irish car market.
What's more, should you get a hole-in-one on the third hole you will be jetting off to Portugal with another before you know it.
It's all part of an exciting new fundraiser golf classic for the Listowel Rugby Club.
"The Volkswagen is worth €12,000 and this is easily a first for Listowel Rugby Club in terms of fundraising we've done over the years," Youth Officer Barry O'Mahony said.
Subterfuge of any kind, needless to say, will get the player nowhere. It will not be enough to have a mate drop your ball into the cup and shout ' hole-inone'.
"We have to abide by very strict conditions by order of the insurance company to make sure that everything is fully transparent and above board," Barry added.
Listowel Rugby Club are calling on all golfers to get behind the classic. Teams of four are for €120 and that includes food at the new-look Horseshoe Bar afterwards.
It's a vital source of funding for the Rugby Club, which commenced training for the youths on Wednesday night at which an impressive 60 plus turned out. The club has proved very successful in recent years and the support of everyone is required as it builds for the future, Barry said.
