THE ANNASCAUL BEERFEST
The Annascaul Beerfest is a charity event run by the people and publicans of Annascaul in West Kerry. Every August Bank Holiday Weekend we come together and try to put on the best party that we can. Good beers, good music and good company - and all in aid of a good cause! We are very proud of our fundraising and have donated almost €20,000 over the last five years. However our event is growing and we want to donate for many years to come! All profits from the sale of beers and drinks - as well as the proceeds from the raffle and the sale of T-shirts and other Annascaul Beerfest merchandise go into our fundraising pot. Last year we donated €5,020.12 to Kerry Respite Care and this year with your help we would very much like to break this figure.
IRISH CANCER SOCIETY: The Irish Cancer Society wishes to thank everyone who contributed to last weeks Church Gate collection. The amount raised at Ardfert was €500, and in Kilmoyley €364.58. We also wish to thank everyone who assisted with the collection.
An observation from the Tidy Towns Group. What is it about the Bottle Bank that some people don't understand? The clue is in the title, it's a bottle bank, it is not a convenient dumping ground for old computers, kettles or curtains. Electrical items can be taken to Dillons in the Kerries for a small charge and curtains and the like are accepted by Kingdom Care at the Cattle Mart Yard in Tralee. Please do not leave anything that isn't a bottle or a can at the bottle bank.
