AN RIOCHT -- all the news

On Sunday last An Riocht Athletes travelled to Rathoath Co. Meath as part of the Kerry teams for the inter Counties crossCountry championships.

Laura Crowe had an excellent run when finishing 8th in the senior women's 8k and lead Kerry to the Bronze Medal. An Riocht had three of the scoring four on the Kerry Team. The wonderfully consistent Niamh O'Sullivan was 20th with Deidre Enright who was having her first Inter Counties race placing 54th in the huge field.

The recently crowned Kerry Senior Cross-Country Champion James Doran and the Novice and Intermediate champion Darren Burke were members of the Kerry men's team who were 7th overall but won the C section.

Brendan O'Connor was 16th of the 90 who finished the boys U18 6k. Brendan won a Bronze medal as a member of the Munster team.

The Donoghue brothers Adam and Kevin competed in the boys U 14. And U16. respectively, running their usual solid races finishing well up in events which attracted 140 starters.

On Sunday next our athletes will be in Newmarket On Fergus for the Munster masters and B championships.


Our Run Rudolf run 5K will take place at An Riocht on Sunday December 9th at 11am.
