THE DEATH has occurred of Bridie Foley (nee Quinn) of Mount Lyne, Killorglin, Co Kerry and formermly of Ballinlough, Co Roscommon.

Bridie passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, surrounded by her loving family.

Bridie was born on December 12, 1933 to parents Thomas and Delia Quinn of Ballinlough, Co Roscommon. She was pre-deceased by her husband Patrick , her brothers Peter, Michael and Thomas and her sister Nora Quinn. She is survived by her four children: Marian Charlton (James), Thomas Foley ( Catherine), Bernadette Fitzgerald (David) - all of New York and her son Padraic Foley (Karen) of Adelaide, her 9 grandchildren whom she adored and her nieces and nephews in Ohio and Roscommon.

She is also survived by Joe, Mary and the Foley family of Laharn, Killorglin and her sister-in- law Delia Quinn of Roscommon.

Bridie attended convent school in Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo before emigrating to London in the early 1950's, where she met her husband the late Patie Foley.

They were happily married for 54 years this past January 29.

She lived and worked in London for many years before returning to Killorglin in 1964. She worked in St Mary's of The Angels, Beaufort for several years before retiring in 1991.

Bridie loved to travel and enjoyed many trips to New York to see her grandchildren, as well as trips to Ohio, San Francisco, Florida and London.

She was an avid reader, gardener and spent many happy years knitting for her grandchildren. She was known as a good and kind friend to all and will be sadly missed by her family, friends and neighbours. "Until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hands".
