€41,000 grant aid

NINE community groups across Kerry are to share in grant aid of €41,000 thanks to IPB Insurance.
The money, awarded through the company's Youth and Community Fund, will be distributed among groups and organisations that support local communities, increase community participation and promote social inclusion through their activities.
Among those to receive funding are the KFEST arts and music festival in Kilorglin; Rahoonane Community Centre, Beaufort GAA Club Healthy Club Project, Féíle na Bealtaine, Scellig Stars Special Needs Club, Rathea/Irremore community group - Get fit get Learning campaign, SouthWest Counselling Centre, Listowel Writers' Week Festival 2014 and Castleisland Town Heritage Trail.
KERRY County Enterprise Board is inviting local business to attend a seminar on how to market their business to mobile users, on this Friday, March 21, at 9.30am in Tralee's Ballygarry Hotel.The two-hour seminar will examine how mobile phones have transformed how we live our lives and how we use technology. Guests will learn how to ensure their business is mobile accessible, how to create the best mobile website, and the benefits of creating dedicated mobile apps.
The seminar is free but places are limited and pre booking is necessary at www.kerryenterprise.ie.
Kerry County Council's new Heritage Officer is TJ Mahony who will move from his current job in the council's planning department to take up his duties as of April 1.
