Killorglin-native Bridget Moriarty meets Taoiseach Enda Kenny on Corrauntuohill.

HE HAS already climbed to the top of the political ladder, but while climbing Ireland's highest mountain Carrantuohill, Taoiseach Enda Kenny had an opportunistic encounter with Killorglin-native Bridget Moriarty.

The yoga teacher, who runs the 'Yoga in Kerry' business, was about 20 minutes from the top when she met Ireland's political leader on his way down, after scaling to the mountain's peak.

"We wouldn't have recognised him if it wasn't for one of his friends pointing him out to us," said Bridget. "He was very easy-going and friendly," she added.

The result of this encounter was one of the most unlikely photographs: Bridget strutting a yoga pose next to the Taoiseach on top of Carrantuohill.

Mr Kenny, accompanied by a group of about 15 people, didn't hang around for an impromptu yoga session. Although this was hardly on Bridget's mind either at this stage of the tough climb.
