JUST over 2,000 runners, walkers, joggers and serious athletes have taken to the streets, flags and roads of the town and surrounding countryside in various events over the past few months and now it's time for the grand finale: The Run-Rudolph-Run 5K Road Race.
This festive frolic will be held at An Riocht Athletic / Health & Leisure Club on this Sunday morning, December 8. Registration time is set for 9-30am ahead of the 11am off- time.
The organisers are urging participants to dress in seasonal gear and make it a family event.
Entry costs €10 for adults and €5 for national school children. The charity to benefit this year is Pieta House, Castleisland.

After clocking up another great win on the road against Titans in Galway, Team Garvey's return to home ground when they play the quarter final of the National Shield against Killester at Castleisland Community Centre on Saturday night, December 7. Tip-off is at 7.30pm. The team and management would appreciate as much local support as possible.
Tonight is opening night for the Island Players staging of the Brian Friel classic, Dancing at Lughnasa at the Ivy Leaf Art Centre.
The proceeds of the opening night have been kindly donated to the Kerry branch of Down's Syndrome Ireland. Tonight is the first of a five-night, Wednesday to Sunday, run of the play. Curtain up nightly at 8pm.
