Based in Kenmare Shopping Centre, customers can choose blank pottery such as a mug, bowl, vase or piggy bank for painting, before handing it over to be glazed.

Once completed, it's dried and fired in a kiln and the final food safe and dishwater proof piece will be ready for collection a few days later. As well as pottery, there's glass painting, fabric and silk painting and other arts and crafts.

The store opened over the bank holiday weekend in June and since then has attracted all ages from young children to grandmothers and everyone in between.

"There's been a brilliant reaction so far as it's something different for parents and children," Marketing Director Aislinn Bergin, from Sneem, states.

"As we opened only last month we weren't able to market to schools but we have a big floor space that can cater for classes too and will be running summer camps and a Saturday club (11am-12noon)," she adds.

"It's a family business owned by my sister, Óisín Schots, and my mother Dawn, who are both very artistic. The idea came from Boulder, Colorado, and a shop we visited there several years ago," Aislinn continues.

Also available are hand and foot prints for babies, as well as hen and birthday party packages. Check out Facebook for further details.
