A KERRY entrepreneur has launched Ireland's first customisable smartphone wedding App.
After months of research and testing, Olivia Buckley of Olivia Buckley Events in Killarney has launched a new Wedding App which allows couples to easily share all their wedding information with friends and family at home and overseas through a user-friendly app.
Couples planning a wedding can include a special code in their wedding invitations which guests can then enter into the app and download information, including directions, times and other details of the wedding straight to their phone.
Alternatively, web address can an be distributed easily via email, social networks, web, emails and texts inviting guests to download the Wedding app and access the information.
"How many people have gone to the wrong church, or got lost and arrived late to the church? Lots!" said Listowel native Olivia.
"People's love affair with technology and their need to be connected continues to grow. Working in the wedding and events industry for over ten years I am aware of the potential mishaps. I initially set about designing a Wedding App for my clients that were living overseas and returning to Ireland for their destination wedding in Killarney, with guests travelling from Australia, USA. UK and all over Ireland," she said.
"I wished to provide information to their guests in a much more accessible approach. Together with an App developer, I designed a bespoke Wedding App, which allowed my clients share all their details from their ceremony location, reception location, accommodation, things to do, maps as well as all relevant contact details through a QR code printed on their wedding invitations," said Olivia.
"The idea was simply to make things easier and convenient for everyone so that from the moment they downloaded the App, all information is at their fingertips."
