RUGBY expert and all-round TV and radio broadcaster George Hook will be in town next week and he'll be showing his age - in fact it's a subject that he's more than a little vociferous about.

George will be in the Malton Hotel on Wednesday, May 28, and will speak specifically about Ireland's ageing population and the issues they face.

The 72-year-old will be joined by experts from Age Action, Active Retirement Ireland, Respond and other organisations.

Anyone who has heard George speak - let's face it there are very few who haven't - will know that he is never stuck for words and he's also not shy about giving his opinions on just about any subject.

It should therefore make for an entertaining evening, particularly as George is well aware that he is getting on in years himself - after all in January he announced that he plans to retire from TV broadcasting and his Newstalk radio show, 'The Right Hook', within two years.

The evening kicks off at 7.30pm and has been organised by home help care specialists 'Bluebird Care'.

Wednesday's event is entitled 'An engagement with Bluebird Care' and is free of charge.

Bookings can be made by calling Bluebird Care on 066 7104015 or email kerrywestcork@bluebirdcare.ie.
