KILLARNEY-based healthy-heart support group Heartbeat is taking to the road and Tralee is the destination for a special jamboree next Monday, October 21.
Following on from a similar event in the Killarney Primary Care Centre last year, over 30 organisations will be represented in the Castlemaine Conference Centre, Manor West Hotel, all providing guidance, support and ideas for people who have had a history of heart conditions, their family and friends.
Indeed, the event is open to everyone and last year it proved a major hit with hundreds attending on the night. Next Monday's jamboree is from 5pm-9.30pm and with the two Tralee hospitals and over 30 organisations represented, the Tralee event is expected to be even bigger and better
"Those attending will be able to talk to people on subjects from slimming to swimming and everything in between," Killarney Heartbeaat Chairperson Billy O'Sullivan says.
The final list of organisations and specialists is not yet complete but over 30 are confirmed to date and specialists include breathing coach Eoin Burns, allergy testing specialist Ray Nolan and dietician Carina Corridon, as well as representatives from the HSE, Diabetes Ireland, DeafHear Kerry, Tralee IT and many more.
