Get behind Tralee's bid!

GET stuck in and do your bit to back the bid. That's the message for the people of Tralee as the town prepares for the arrival of judges from the prestigious Entente Florale Competition.

Eleven judges from the competition, a European version of the Tidy Towns contest, arrive in Tralee later Today (Wednesday) and they are due to tour the town on Thursday.

Tidy Tralee, Tralee Chamber Alliance and Kerry County Council have been pulling put all the stops to make sure the town is looking its very best ahead of the judges' arrival.

In the last week alone volunteer groups have organised several voluntary cleanups, hundreds of flowers have been planted, council staff have been busy power hosing the Town Square and the Pikeman monument and throughout the town business owners have been giving their premises a thorough cleaning.

Johnnie Wall who chairs Tralee's Entente Florale Working Group is appealing for everyone in town to get involved and help Tralee win the prestigious title.

"Winning this competition would be huge for Tralee and we're asking everyone in town to do their bit," he said.
