Entry forms are now available for 'The Emerging Artisan Food Product Awards 2013' which will be judged by a panel of experts on Tuesday, October 22 at the Listowel Arms Hotel.

The overall winners and finalists in each category will be profiled and have their products showcased over the course of the fair, which runs from November 21 to 24.

"A concise definition of 'artisan food' is hard to find, but at Listowel Food Fair it implies that food producers bring a skill and/or craft to handmade foods and beverages.

"The level of skill or craft will vary greatly, but the personality and passion of the food producers tend to shine through," said Aoife Hannon of the Listowel Food Fair.

The winner of each category will receive a €200 cash prize and the overall gold medal winner will receive €1,000.

There is an entry fee €25 per producer and the closing date for entries is October 15.
