DAFFODIL Day is on Friday, March 28 this year and, as always, local organiser Marie Walsh is looking for volunteers to help with selling Daffodils, tea towels, mugs and pens - which all carry the daffodil logo.

"Every item sold improves the lives of people affected by cancer. Irish Cancer Society's services are free, confidential and accessible and are there to help anyone affected by cancer at every stage throughout that difficult journey," said Marie.

Fresh daffodils can be left in at Walsh Bros Electrical on the Wednesday or Thursday of next week or they can be brought to the collection points around the town on the morning of March 28.

To volunteer or to donate fresh daffodils, money or time you're invited to please contact 086 1032436 or 066 71 41973.

"It's always good to give back to your community and volunteering is a very rewarding way of doing just that," Marie said.
