The fundraising dance, which takes place at Tralee's Fels Point Hotel at 9pm, will coincide with Darren's 40th birthday and will feature live music from Midnight Cafe.

Darren shot to local and national attention earlier this summer when he starred in a Youtube video - Fighting Cancer Darren's Way. The inspirational video , which aimed to encourage people to get up and fight despite their cancer, has since been viewed over 110,000 times.

As Darren bravely continues to battle pancreatic cancer, his friends have come on board to organise Sunday's benefit night to help buy a car for his family.

"As it is, Darren and his wife and daughter live in Ardfert and have no transport, so if Darren gets sick and needs to get to a doctor or hospital they are relying on lifts and taxis," his friend Rebecca Roche explained. "What we're hoping is that Sunday night's benefit dance will raise enough money to buy a car for them."

Tickets are €10 and will be available on the door.
